Innovative university accommodation in Scotland. The “Beith Street” project involved the production of more than 2,000 panels for the ventilated façade of a new building within the “West Village” complex, a student residence located a few hundred metres from the University of Glasgow. GammaStone Natural Air has enabled the designer to create a modern and energy-efficient building in perfect harmony with the surrounding architectural environment and Scottish cityscape. The adoption of the ventilated façade is very effective in counteracting the high humidity rate of the local climate and, in addition, the use of local stone has facilitated the inclusion of the new building in the old complex without impeding innovation, also from the design point of view.

For this student building's ventilated façade, the GammaStone Natural Air solution was selected. The natural stone used as a surface was sourced locally. The Locharbriggs Red Sandstone has the ideal characteristics to respect the already existing context around the structure.
