A45 Shelter

The BIG prototype, called A45, is the first of a series of small houses designed by well-known architects that Klein intends to offer to its customers. Built in the upstate New York, the one-story building has a minimum footprint of 17 square meters, which includes an open-plan living and sleeping area with a small hob, a bathroom and a loft area.

The cabin designed by BIG is built with modules assembled on site, resting on four concrete pillars. This method is intended to allow owners to build their tiny houses in remote areas, without the need for heavy machinery.

Most of the materials are completely recyclable, including the wooden frame, the wall modules, a foundation and the triangular floor-to-ceiling windows.
