Bluff Reach By Butler Armsden Architects

The holiday home, designed by Butler Armsden Architects, is located on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The house is characterized by vertical wood paneling, soft colored materials and a magnificent panorama for those who love the sea.

Resisting the temptation to provide panoramic views in every space of the house, the architects have placed the windows carefully. Between the library and the main suite, a blind door offers sufficient separation. Works of art throughout the home capture attention but release it quickly. In the living room, a powder-coated steel staircase leads to one of the few additions to the floor, a tower that houses a new office. The white vertical planks of Douglas Fir that envelop the interior spaces recall the cedar that covers the exterior of the house.
