The monumental sculpture of Peugeot

The original Peugeot emblem created 160 years ago, precisely in 1858, was a lion that walked on an arrow. The emblem symbolized three main qualities of the serrated blades produced in that period: flexibility, tooth strength and cutting speed.

This year, for the Geneva Motor Show 2018, Peugeot’s design lab developed a huge 5-meter lion statue. "Designers have shaped an iconic, timeless design in this monumental lion, with smooth, sculpted surfaces," comments Gilles Vidal, Peugeot’s design manager.

"Its spectacular dimensions underline the solid, powerful and unshakeable character of the lion, whose posture, standing up, moving forward decisively but without aggressiveness, conveys serenity and confidence in the future."
