The hypnotic geometries of La Grande Motte

La Grande Motte, immortalized in the images of Stefano Perego and Roberto Conte, is a resort by the sea and a small port characterized by a homogeneous and impressive architecture.

It was built between 1960 and 1970. This 400-hectare expansive resort was designed by a single man: visionary architect Jean Balladur. Everything bears his signature, from the buildings to the street, from the vegetation to the finishes of the apartments.

Games of geometric shapes such as pyramids, triangles and circles, the Grande Motte is the perfect playground for photographers who in this way can capture the essence of this retro seaside resort.

"La Grande Motte has appeared to us as a kaleidoscope of shapes and patterns", the photographers explain, "a true visual and hypnotic experience full of surprises on the big and small scale". The goal of this series of images is to highlight the geometric complexity and extravagance of Balladur’s design.
