The Mortimer House By AvroKO

The 2,900-square-foot building is located in one block of seven floors on Mortimer Street in Fitzrovia, London, and includes co-working spaces, bars and lounges to relax.

Designed with a focus on wellness and fitness, the top floor houses a yoga and pilates studio as well as a meditation room, while a gym is built in the basement.

The building, which had been used as an office since the 70s, had to be completely emptied before work began. A new elevator was inserted while balconies were added to the last floor.

The architects kept original wooden floors in the bar and in the lounge areas, terraces and trumpets of the central stairs, where the original railing was also restored. In the entrance hall, an intricate mosaic was repaired and restored.
There are 180 workstations in collaborative and private work spaces, as well as meeting rooms and printing spaces. Off-shore telephone booths provide a secluded place for private calls.
