Shigeki Yamamoto Design wants to remember the freedom of childhood

The Berlin designer Shigeki Yamamoto has launched the "play cabinet", a new piece of his series of works that recall a construction kit for children.

The origin of this design dates back to several years ago, when the designer, working on a table lamp, had the idea of the concept that now, as he says, allows him to work "more freely".

The idea is that when Yamamoto draws an object, he uses plug and screw connections, so when he assembles the details, he can attach them almost anywhere.

"With each project I find new opportunities and ways to apply my concept", explains the designer. "I always knew that I wanted to use this technique to create even more complex structures. The Play Cabinet represents the current peak of my journey, which is still far from the finish line ".
