How to turn a super penthouse into a wine cellar.

Superimpose has designed an exclusive club also composed of a wine cellar for wine lovers. The project was built on the top floor of one of the most innovative buildings in Beijing, the Genesis tower. This is a mixed-use construction born of an idea by the Japanese architect Tadao Ando, which combines a hotel, offices, gardens and a museum.

The private club is the place where the client organizes important meetings and visits. Members enter through a hidden folding door into the exclusive club that instantly offers a spectacular view of the embassy and Beijing financial districts. the central element in gilded stainless steel subtly reflects the skyline and naturally forms the background of the entire club.
A segment of the central divider is constructed of dark mirrored glass that reflects the horizon and hides the "cellar of the sky". This piece was designed to be a reinterpretation of the traditional cellar. Members access the exclusive hidden area through the automatic sliding glass doors.
The 25 sqm cellar houses up to 500 bottles of wine from six famous regions of the world: Bordeaux, Rhone Valley, Burgundy, Napa Valley, Mosel and Barolo. During the day, mirrored glass doors hide the cellar and protect it from direct sunlight. The mirrored doors allow members to admire both the wine and the skyline while they are inside the cellar. At sunset and during the evening hours, it lights up and reveals the 500 bottles of wine in the main space.
